Unforgettable Mattress Factory Wedding
The Mattress Factory is one of the most unique Pittsburgh wedding venues. It’s a playful, immersive experience that leads to some amazing photos. Danielle and Jordan’s Mattress Factory wedding was a colorful experience that perfectly reflected their fun-loving personalities.
A Mattress Factory Wedding
The Mattress Factory is an immersive museum designed around large installations. It’s one of Pittsburgh’s coolest places to visit. Maybe the most iconic room is Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Dots Mirror Room. Oversized orange polka dots, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors create an incredible interactive experience. The best part of a Mattress Factory wedding? Your guests get to explore the exhibits during the reception! It’s such a unique experience.
Danielle and Jordan had a guest list of under 100, but the Mattress factory can host 150-200 guests. The Winifred Lutz Garden is a charming space for an outdoor ceremony. Rental includes the Lobby as well. Regardless of bad weather, you’ll have a beautiful place to celebrate.
If you have a Mattress Factory wedding, you have a lot of portrait options around the museum. I photographed Danielle and Jordan’s portraits throughout the North Shore of Pittsburgh. Their first look was in The Mexican War Streets, a historic district just steps from the Mattress Factory.
Colorful Wedding Photos Full of Personality
Danielle and Jordan wanted their wedding photography to be as colorful and fun as the rest of their Mattress Factory wedding. In one conversation, Danielle described their aesthetic as “moody fall with pops of color.” They came through with the colorful in creative ways! Danielle wore a vibrant shawl that coordinated perfectly with her hair piece and bouquet. It echoed all the bright colors in the museum.
As a wedding photographer, I always aim to show my clients’ personalities. That’s exactly what Danielle and Jordan wanted. Danielle said, "I just want the portraits to capture our personalities, be fun, and showcase our friendship and relationship. We want beautiful creative pieces we can hang in our home and feel excited about. Not as much into the traditional." It helped that these two smiled non-stop when they were together!
These two are sweet, kind, and silly. One of my favorite memories actually happened between photos at dinner. Danielle and Jordan served pierogies (because Pittsburgh). During the reception, Danielle ran up to me before the buffet opened up, grabbed my arm, and said "Wanna eat pierogies and grilled cheese sandwiches?!" We then silly ran together to the food. It was just us before the guests were allowed back. Jordan also joined us, and it was such a sweet moment of just us three eating together. Danielle looked up and said "You feel like one of our friends now.” I couldn’t ask for more!
