Intimate French Quarter Wedding with Colorful Details

Nothing says “New Orleans” like a French Quarter wedding. Sam and Shannon’s included three incredible New Orleans wedding venues. They had a joyful celebration with an intimate group of friends and family.

A French Quarter Wedding Years in the Making

Sometimes as a wedding photographer, I’m lucky enough to work with couples over several years. Sam and Shannon are special to me for that reason. I worked with them three years in a row! It started with an engagement session followed by their elopement. They had to rethink their original wedding plans due to the 2020 lockdown. I got to photograph their elopement in City Park and sign as their witness.

In 2021, they were finally able to have their French Quarter wedding on a much more intimate scale to comply with Covid guidelines at the time. The guest list might have been smaller than they originally planned for, but their celebration was every bit as joyful as a big wedding day.

Three Beautiful French Quarter Wedding Venues

Because Shannon and Sam kept their French Quarter wedding small, they were able to enjoy three beautiful New Orleans wedding venues.

Hotel Provincial

Hotel Provincial hosts small weddings in their lush courtyard, but it’s also a great place just to get ready for a French Quarter wedding. The rooms are really elegant with beautiful tall windows that overlook Chartres Street.

New Orleans Pharmacy Museum

Shannon and Sam held their ceremony at the Pharmacy Museum. The courtyard is a world of its own. It’s also so much fun to take photos inside this quirky space with its apothecary antiques.

Beauregard Keyes House

We walked from one courtyard to another for a French Quarter wedding reception at the Beauregard Keyes House. With minimalist decor, the venue felt really romantic.

Even though Sam and Shannon encountered so many challenges on the way to their wedding day, they handled it all with such grace. They focused on what mattered and ended up having a  beautiful wedding in some of New Orleans’ coolest courtyards!
