Creative Seraphim House Engagement Photos

Sometimes the best spot for engagement photos is a quirky wedding venue! Seraphim House is filled with vintage furniture and cool architectural features. I documented James and Michele’s engagement with creative photos that don’t feel like your average engagement session.

Seraphim House: A New Orleans Wedding Venue

The Seraphim House is a small New Orleans wedding venue that can be rented for photo sessions. It’s a classic Creole Cottage built in the 1860s. The current owners renovated it between 2012 and 2015. It definitely feels like it used to be someone’s home, so it’s perfect for intimate weddings and elopements.

Even though it was renovated to be an event space, walking into the Seraphim House feels like stepping back in time. I love the way the owners preserved the history and charm of the building. It’s full of an artistic patina and vintage furniture in cute nooks. The vintage furniture and elaborate chandeliers along with the natural light from the tall windows make for epic engagement photos. Since it’s indoors, you can get amazing photos regardless of the weather. That’s a big perk in this tropical climate!

Creative Engagement Photos

The Seraphim House suited Michele and James. They’re laid back, silly, fun people. The quiet space allowed them ease into the session while just being themselves. We took advantage of all the cool vignettes that felt so New Orleans. As avid travelers, Michele and James love this city. We even ran into each other on Frenchman Street before our session. Even though we were in Halloween costumes, we recognized each other! I love that they wanted engagement photos that feel like this incredible city.

One of the great things about the Seraphim House is its proximity to the French Quarter. After we wrapped up the indoor portion of our session, we walked into the Quarter to explore the colorful buildings. Michele and James decided to end with a cocktail at Rampart Treehouse. These engagement photos were so much fun! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Latrobe’s in the French Quarter.
