Hotel Peter and Paul: A Unique Wedding Venue in New Orleans
When Becca and Brian decided on a destination wedding in New Orleans, they knew they wanted to book a unique wedding venue. This city has so much historic charm mixed with modern artistry. They wanted their guests to experience that too. Hotel Peter and Paul turned out to be the perfect solution. This gorgeous venue is one of my all-time favorites, and it was the perfect setting for Becca and Brian’s joyful celebration.
A Unique Wedding Venue in New Orleans
Hotel Peter and Paul is one of the most unique wedding venues in New Orleans. That’s saying something for such a creative city! It’s an old Catholic church and school campus that have been artfully renovated as a hotel and event space. The hotel is also home to the Elysian Bar, a great restaurant that serves up amazing cocktails and mocktails.
This unique wedding venue is really flexible. You can host anything from an intimate micro wedding to a 350-person celebration. Prices start at $30,000 for peak dates and $20,000 for off peak dates.
Becca and Brian’s Destination Wedding
Becca and Brian’s celebration at this unique wedding venue was relaxed and fun. In her inquiry, Becca told me that joy is at the center of their relationship. She said that Brian “truly brings out the happiest, best version of me that I didn't even know was possible to find until [we] me.” I knew their wedding day was going to be unforgettable.
Before they were even engaged, Becca and Brian talked about having a small wedding in New Orleans. They told me, “We are so excited to make that dream come true!”
The whole day did feel like a dream come true in a lot of ways. Becca and Brian worked with Lissa of Hallowed Ground Productions. I love working with Lisa. Back in 2019, I photographed her wedding at the Pharmacy Museum. Lisa always thinks through the details that make a big impact on a wedding experience.
Throughout the day, Becca and Brian spent lots of time with family and friends. Brian’s best friend served as his best man. Becca’s sister was her maid of honor, and her best friend was her other wedding party member. Having an intimate wedding party meant things didn’t feel rushed, and everyone got good quality time. Becca and Brian got to be in the moment all the way through the day.
Brian’s sisters played a big role in the wedding. One officiated. Since their mother had passed, Brian danced with his sisters at the reception instead. He’s the youngest of four, so it was really moving to see them all come together to honor their mom and celebrate Brian.
The architecture of Hotel Peter and Paul is part of what makes it a unique wedding venue. Becca and Brian’s first look was epic. They came down separate staircases. I loved their reactions!
Joyful Wedding Photos at Hotel Peter and Paul
After the first look, we explored this unique wedding venue from top to bottom. Every inch of the hotel feels like a fairyland of art. The carefully curated decor makes it almost otherworldly. The space makes photos look cinematic. Becca described the wedding as a dream come true, and you can feel that in these photos.
Becca and Brian were a blast to photograph largely because they obviously have so much fun together. Once Becca told me, “[Brian] always makes me laugh even at times when it seems like laughing isn't possible.” What an amazing foundation for a relationship!
An emotional ceremony led to heartfelt dances and toasts at the reception. After that, the DJ kept the dance floor bumpin’. Their guests left everything on the floor!
To top off the New Orleans experience, Becca and Brian ended the night with a second line. In this New Orleans tradition, a brass band joins the wedding and leads everyone into the street for a moving dance party. Kinfolk Brass Band brought everyone to the afterparty spot, Bamboula’s on Frenchman Street. Becca and Brian lived for every minute of it!
Reliving the Day All Over Again
When Becca and Brian received their gallery, Becca wrote the sweetest review. Here’s just a snippet: “[Ashley] always made us feel like ourselves, encouraged us at every turn, and was also just a really fun person to have around on our wedding day. I had so many people come up to me after our wedding telling me how much they loved her vibe and how impressed they were with her hustle during the second line! As for the photos themselves, we were quite literally speechless when we got them. I never knew it was possible to capture so much emotion in photographs and Ashley absolutely knocked it out of the park. Going through our photos felt like reliving the day all over again - I laughed and I cried and I am so grateful to have these memories captured so perfectly.”
I love photographing New Orleans weddings! It’s such a unique way to celebrate your love and everything that makes this vibrant city so special. Would you like me to photograph your wedding? Inquire with me!
