Whimsical Music Box Village Wedding

Music Box Village is a New Orleans wedding venue that will keep your guests entertained with magical experiences. The interactive installation was the perfect place for Kristen and Andy’s wedding. It was filled with romantic details and joyful moments.

A Music Box Village Wedding

Music Box Village is a truly unique New Orleans wedding venue. The site is essentially a musical playground for adults (and, ok, kids too). Multi-story structures incorporate bells, drums, and other whimsical musical instruments. If you want to give your wedding guests a one-of-a-kind experience, consider the Music Box Village.

The project, run by New Orleans Airlift, started as a traveling installation. It has charmed people all over the world. It found a permanent home in New Orleans’ Upper 9th Ward in 2016. Now the Music Box Village hosts musical performances, art markets, and some of the coolest weddings in town. Packages average around $6,000.

Kristen and Andy’s Romantic Details

When Kristen and Andy decided to get married at Music Box Village, they loved the idea of contrasting the venue’s industrial materials with over-the-top romantic details. Kristen was especially excited for the formal wedding party and lush florals. It was incredible to see her vision come to life on their wedding day.

The florals, attire, and decor worked together to create a complete look. The whole aesthetic experience actually started with their invitations. Kristen and Andy commissioned a custom watercolor painting of Music Box Village to share with guests on the front of their invitations.

Kristen and Andy added an installation of their own with a vintage Volkswagen bus. Their florist filled it with flowers. It was the sweetest backdrop for the first look and bridal party portraits.

A Fun-filled New Orleans Wedding Venue

This venue really was ideal for Kristen and Andy’s wedding. Kristen told me, “Music, food and damn good cocktails are our jam. We want our day to be FUN, which is why we fell in love with Music Box Village."

The guests at Kristen and Andy’s wedding reception really embraced the interactive nature of Music Box Village. Everyone explored the music installations and had the best time. You could see the joy on everyone’s faces. It brought such a lighthearted feeling to the celebration.

As detail-oriented as this wedding was, Kristen and Andy’s community made it an unforgettable experience. One of Kristen's bridesmaids couldn't make it to the wedding so they got a giant cardboard cut out of her to include throughout the day.One of my favorite images from the reception is when two bridesmaids toast the cardboard cutout. That sense of love and whimsy carried through the whole night.
