7 New Orleans Florists Who Will Make Your Wedding Vibrant

Florals can transform a wedding venue from okay to WOAH. In my years photographing New Orleans weddings, I’ve seen florists create dreamscapes that I still think about. This blog post gives you tips for finding a great florist along with seven of my favorite New Orleans florists. Get inspired by their amazing creations and find the perfect florist for you!

What to Look for in Your Wedding Florist

Before you inquire with any New Orleans florists, there are a few things you should consider. These questions can help you guide your research.

  1. What’s your budget for florals? You can be flexible on this point, but it’s good to have an estimate in mind before reaching out to florists.

  2. Which florists’ work aligns with your vision for your wedding? For example, if you care about color, find a florist whose portfolio showcases loads of color.

  3. Can the florist work with your venue? It can be helpful to see the florists’ previous work in your wedding venue or similar venues.

  4. Do you want to factor in environmental concerns? If so, pick a florist that uses locally grown, seasonal flowers as much as possible.

7 New Orleans Florists Who Will Make Your Wedding Vibrant

I’ve worked with all of these New Orleans florists and have been blown away by their gorgeous creations.

1. Cry Baby Floral

I work with these New Orleans florists often since our clientele loves color!  I get excited whenever I get to work with them. Cry Baby Floral will drench your wedding in color. Their team is amazing.

Cry Baby Floral knows how to work with different venues and materials. They incorporate fruits, flowers, and other greenery into installations. Some of their pieces end up looking like still life paintings.

2. Doris Ione

In the past, I’ve worked with Destiny of Doris Ione. She truly takes in the atmosphere of a space and amplifies it with her art. Whether it's a back yard wedding or a high end hotel, she elevates everything around her.

Destiny did the ceremony installation for a backyard wedding I photographed. She incorporated florals to look like they grew naturally around the ceremony spot. It was epic!

3. Theia Flowers

Megan, owner of Theia Flowers, is the former creative director of Pistil and Stamen, a New Orleans favorite which closed a few years ago. I initially found Megan’s work through Pistil and Stamen and was excited to see that she’s continuing her work in weddings through Theia Flowers.

Every time I see Megan’s work, I’m in awe. Her floral art is as beautiful as a poem. Seriously stunning! At a Pharmacy Museum wedding I photographed, she created an arch with orange and gold tulips. The color and movement is unreal.

4. Sharime Kayla Design

Sharime Kayla Design is another one of the New Orleans florists who knows how to bring something unexpected to a wedding day. She thinks through every detail in your ceremony space, bouquets, and reception. Her sense of color is fantastic.

5. Antigua Floral

I love the shape of Antigua Floral’s bouquets. Her work perfectly weaves in color and movement with a tropical twist. Every time I see her work, I’m in awe. I truly believe this team of New Orleans florists can do anything.

6. Duia & Jean

Duia & Jean create floral installations that are modern and whimsical. They aren’t afraid to take on a big project. I photographed a wedding where they transformed the Music Box Village with unbelievable installations. They used a romantic palette of reds and pinks to make the space feel so special and artistic.
